![]() ![]() I received an ARC from Ylva for an honest review. Bottom line for me is that I would read this again. ![]() The four main characters all have their own stories to an extent, which provide insight into them. She was the comic relief for much of the book and reminded me of a friend’s mother who would ask me for dope whenever I visited. Fleur was often crass, but I still enjoyed her character. ![]() ![]() It’s always a plus when the main characters are over 40. Despite its flaws, I enjoyed reading this. Some things were telegraphed early, such as Fleur’s situation and Bobbi’s mid-story actions. There is instalove, or at least instant attraction, but the story does move quickly over just a few weeks. Unbeknownst to her, Sasha’s script was submitted to Jac’s film company and they want to film it. After this intro to Sasha, Bramhall cuts away to Jac and her partners who just received a script that they want to film. From what is said, they just hang out a lot and work as massage therapists at a spa, but otherwise don’t do much together. She seems to have one friend, Bobbi, who cares for her as more than a friend. Sasha has moved home to care for her mother, Fleur, who was stricken with cancer 5 years ago. This novel is amusing at times, and bittersweet or poignant at others. ![]()
